"I Love Me Some New Orleans" is inspired by life born, raised and lived in and around the City of New Orleans. It’s a celebration of the unique melting pot of people, dialects, food, music and culture that has introduced and contributed so much to the world, creole cuisine, jazz music and Mardi Gras carnival just to name a few. New Orleans and the people here are special. Whether it’s overcoming literal or metaphorical hurricanes in-between all the goodness or just being hopeful and creative with our problems, like decorating potholes and filling them with beads, we dream, we persevere, we celebrate and New Orleans remains exceptional.
Struttin’, strollin’, and shakin’ my thing down in New Orleans where we're known for our food, music, culture, and letting the good times roll.
This song is dedicated to the city, the people in and around the greater New Orleans area and to my parents, Philip Schaefer III and Peggy Schaefer. Without them, I would not have had a life-time of incredible experiences and memories in a world-renowned city with amazing food, music, celebrations and all that the New Orleans area has to offer. I want to give a special word of thanks to my mom. I was able to honor her by including her background vocal, “get outta dere you,” in the song. She always said that playfully whenever I was sneaking a taste of one of the delicious dishes she was preparing. Thank you mom for the thousands of hours of effort and the amazing meals you made for me and all your love and sacrifices. I love you. My hope is "I Love Me Some New Orleans" creates stronger shared bonds between people, a greater connection to the New Orleans area and instills a sense of pride.
